Do I need to study economics to join the fund?
Not at all!
Although the TalTech Student Fund originated from the School of Business and Governance, we welcome all TalTech students with a passion for investing and financial literacy. Your interest and active participation are important, not necessarily your prior professional background. We have members from various fields – this provides our investment decisions with a wonderfully diverse and fresh perspective!
Does the Student Fund also support my personal investments or offer advice?
Our primary goal is to offer you a platform and knowledge to develop your skills and learn to make smart investment decisions independently. We do not provide direct personal investment advice, but we equip you with all the tools and knowledge to learn how to ‘fish’ in the financial world yourself. Thus, we do not give you fish, but we teach you to fish more diligently!
Do I need to have prior knowledge of investing?
Not required!
While a strong interest in investing is important, we do not expect you to be a Wall Street ‘wolf’ right away. Our goal is to provide practical experience and develop your skills. If you have sufficient motivation and a willingness to learn, we will offer you the necessary training and resources to quickly and successfully integrate into the fund’s activities. We all learn together and support each other.
Do I need to contribute my own money to invest in the fund?
Not required!
The TalTech Student Fund aims to provide you with practical investment experience using our fund’s capital and resources. You contribute your time, eagerness for knowledge, and active participation, and we offer you a platform where you can learn and operate without risking your own money. In essence, you gain experience without spending a single cent from your wallet – quite a good deal, isn’t it?!
